Guy B. Snowden
Founder and Partner
An accomplished entrepreneur and international businessman, Mr. Snowden has built a number of highly successful companies in computer technology and other fields, and is one of the founding fathers of the modern lottery industry. Mr. Snowden began his computer technology career with IBM in 1966 and brought his computer expertise to the lottery industry when he joined Mathematica, Inc., in 1976. Then in 1980, Mr. Snowden and two partners acquired the assets of Datatrol's Gaming System Division and founded GTECH Corporation.
Under Mr. Snowden's leadership, GTECH has designed, produced, and implemented more than 80 computerized online networks. The company's market share reached 73% and achieved revenues of nearly one billion dollars. In addition, his innovations have helped governments' lottery operations generate billions of dollars in revenues.
Mr. Snowden served as CEO of GTECH since its inception and was Chairman from 1987 until his retirement in 1998. He serves on several different boards and is a member of numerous industry, civic, and professional organizations. Mr. Snowden attended Syracuse University and Pace College, and has been honored with degrees from Johnson and Wales University, Bryant College, and New England Technical Institute.
